1784 PCMK Win XP / 2000 Setup

Installing the Allen-Bradley PCMK Plug and Play driver.

Step 1:

Created the directory C:\PCMK Driver on your computer.

Step 2:

Download the self-extracting file 1784-PCMK_Win2k_XP.exe from the Allen-Bradley support site http://www.ab.com/support/downloads/1784-PCMK_Win2k_XP.exe

Click the Save button

 

Save the file to the C:\PCMK Driver directory you created in step 2.

Click the Save button

 

Step 3:

Run the self-extracting file 1784-PCMK_Win2k_XP.exe

Enter c:\PCMK Driver\1784-PCMK in the "Unzip To Folder" field.

Click the Unzip button

Install the 1784-PCMK Card

Step 1:

Insert the 1784-PCMK card into an available PCMCIA socket on your laptop or notebook computer.

Windows Hardware Wizard will automatically detect the presence of the 1784-PCMK and prompt you for a driver.

Select Install from a list or specific location (Advanced)

Click the Next > button

Step 2:

Specify the location of the Allen-Bradley PCMK Plug and Play driver C:\PCMK Driver\1784-PCMK

Click the Next > button

Step 3:

When Windows Hardware Wizard completes the driver installation, click the Finish button.

Obtaining the 1784-PCMK Memory Resource.

Step 1:

Open Windows Control Panel -> System

Select Hardware tab.

Click the Device Manager button.

Right click on Allen-Bradley PCMICA Family -> Allen-Bradley 1784-PCMK Series B folder and select Properties

Select the Resources tab.

Record the first 8-digits of the Memory Range address (Example FABFC000)
NOTE: The Memory Range address is specific the laptop/notebook.

Click Cancel to close the 1784-PCMK Series B Properties window.

Click Cancel to close Device Manager window.
