Configuring 1784-PKTX Driver

1784-PKTX(Single Channel) Cards – A driver is required for each 1784-PKTX card installed.

1784-PKTXD(Dual Channel) Cards – 2 drivers are required for each 1784-PKTXD card installed. One driver is required to configure Channel A, and the other driver is required to configure Channel B.

Select DH+/DH-485 (1784-PKTX, KTX, KT, PCMK) and click the Add.. button.

Selecting the Card Type

Select 1784-PKTx(D) from the 1784-Card type section.

Setting the Driver Name

In the Driver Name section, leave the Driver Name blank and click the Find Cards icon.

The OPC Server will scan the PCI bus and assign names to 1784-PKTX cards discovered.

PKTX_0 (First PKTX Card)

PKTXD_0A (First PKTXD Card Channel A)

PKTX_1 (Second PKTX Card)

PKTXD_0B (First PKTXD Card Channel B)

PKTX_2 (Third PKTX Card)

PKTXD_1A (Second PKTXD Card Channel A)

PKTX_3 (Fourth PKTX Card)

PKTXD_1B (Second PKTXD Card Channel B)

Setting Network Type

In the Allen-Bradley Network Type, select the type of network you are interfacing to.

Setting Card Properties

In the Card Properties section

Base Address:
This select is disabled.

Station ID:
Select a unique station ID (Node Address) for the PKTX Card.
DH+ Networks (00-77)
DH-485 Networks (00-31)

Baud Rate:
Select the baud rate that matches the network.
DH+ Networks (57.6K, 115K, 230K)
DH-485 Networks (9600, 19.2K)

Max Node Addr: (DH-485 Only)
Select the highest node on the DH-485 network to optimize network token passing

Terminal Name (Optional)
Enter a 7 character node name for the PKTX card for network identification.

 

 

Click the OK button.

The PKTX(D) card(s) will initialize when the driver installation is complete. This is shown in the Driver Pane.
